Energy Aggregation Block

Aggregation Blocks (AB) are a revolutionary solution for companies looking to optimize energy consumption, reduce costs, and generate new revenue from flexibility. LSK Green Energy and its aggregation block connect producers, consumers, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) into a single intelligent energy ecosystem, enabling efficient energy management and supporting the stability of the distribution network.

Optimize Your Consumption and Generate New Revenue

Energy Supplier and Aggregation Block – Can You Have Both?

A common question is whether it is possible to have an energy supplier while being part of an aggregation block. The answer is yes! Participation in the LSK Aggregation Block does not require changing your electricity supplier – companies can continue purchasing energy from their supplier while benefiting from aggregation and flexibility management.

How Does Energy Aggregation Work in Practice?

Energy Supplier (Trader)

  • Supplies electricity to customers under a standard contract.

  • The company consumes energy from the grid as usual unless flexibility in the aggregation block is activated.

Participation in the LSK Aggregation Block

  • A company with PV power plants (FVE), BESS, or controllable consumption can join the LSK Aggregation Block.

  • LSK Green Energy manages power output, optimizes energy flows, and trades flexibility on the ancillary services market for ČEPS (Czech Transmission System Operator).

Real-World Example – Industrial Company in the Czech Republic

Scenario:

A company in the Czech Republic purchases electricity from the energy supplier while operating its own PV system and BESS. It joined the LSK Aggregation Block, which manages its energy flexibility and helps optimize operations

How It Works in Practice

1. Normal Operation

  • The company generates part of its electricity from PV, purchasing the rest from energy supplier.

  • Excess energy is stored in battery storage (BESS).

2. Activation of the Aggregation Block (e.g., during a grid frequency drop)

  • ČEPS sends a request for power regulation, which LSK redirects to AB participants.

  • The company switches to battery power or reduces consumption, thereby decreasing its grid demand.

  • Within 15 seconds of activation, the company provides flexibility and helps stabilize the grid.

3. Economic Benefits for the Company

  • Compensation for providing flexibility.

  • Cost savings – reducing consumption during peak hours lowers the electricity bill from energy supplier.

  • PV system optimization – instead of selling excess energy at low market prices, the company utilizes it for flexibility.

4. After Activation Ends

  • The company returns to normal operation.

  •  Electricity provider deliveries remain unchanged, and the contractual relationship is not affected.

Why Join the LSK Aggregation Block?

By joining the LSK Aggregation Block, your company maintains full control over its energy management while unlocking new opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.

  • LSK Green Group as aggregator, managing energy flexibility and trading it on the ancillary services market.

  • Your company benefits financially by reducing operational costs and increasing energy efficiency.

  • Joining the aggregation block is simple and does not require changing your energy supplier.

This model is a rapidly growing trend among industrial enterprises and energy producers with battery storage who seek to actively manage their energy consumption, lower expenses, and generate new revenue streams.
